North of England Open

Work meant I could only manage day 2, so any sensible person probably wouldn't have bothered with the 12 hour round trip drive. Not I though; the lure of seeing some friends who I don't get to see so often, and the thought of a few good rounds was too much to miss.

Well the company was good, as was the curry and the beer, but the F3F was rather variable, ho hum.

Espen had a prototype of the new Baudis model.
The conditions were far too variable to make any objective assessment of the flying performance, but the quality was exquisite. The RDS was simply perfect and the new fuz was strong, light, narrow, and... wait for it...

...it even has a ballast tube - perfect.

Dieter had an all new Caldera R (for Race) with him. So far it's the only version of its kind but I suspect a few close friends and family may also pries one from him. Not for production though.

The Vikos continued to impress.
I even stayed on to have a play with Paul Garnet's new one. And very nice it was too... more soon on this, may be.

There are more pictures in the slide show below - be sure to view it full screen.
