Final day at La Muela

Final photos from La Muela and the journey back as far as Lerma where we hold up for the night to make the Sunday morning ferry dash easier.

Last full day at La Muela

Almost too hot!

Ceres RDS at La Muela

Had a good session at La Muela with the Ceres RDS yesterday. I must say it's incredible the difference that RDS makes. On my original Ceres I needed to use flaps mixed with ailerons to get a decent response - and I'm comfortable with relatively soft ailerons. On the RDS version I ended up using ailerons only and even then I rated them down after a few flights. It is just wonderfully I direct!

More soon. In the meantime, thanks to Mike Evans for the mandatory Vic update below!

The sun's still out at La Muela

And there's more...

Wednesday 7 April 2010

Another hot day at La Muela

Just a fantastic day, except for Vic. But... actually, despite a Tx failure chucking his Elita in from a great height we managed to fix both his Tx and his Elita. Amongst other things both these were great exercises in problem solving and team building!

More soon if I can be arsed!

Sport flying at La Muela

Another very hot day. Learned a lesson, don't leave your gas soldering iron in the heat or it goes bang. Well, actually, it went BANG!

Another day at La Muela

Some photos from another splendid day.

La Muela F3F

Just one round on day two to add to the four rounds from the previous day. Light winds and rain made the day a bit of a pain.

That man Rondel won, again... Final photos below, remember to view full screen

More soon, I need food again!

Peter Bailey

UPDATE - Pete's funeral will be on Thursday 15th April at Yeovil Crematorium at 1.20 pm. Jill has said that anyone wishing to join her at her home for a light bite after the service would be most welcome.
-----------------------------
I heard today the very sad news that Peter Bailey passed away yesterday. Pete was a great bloke who was universally liked and could never do enough to help people.

Sadly I cannot make the funeral as we're out here in Spain by I think Jill would appreciate seeing his friends at the funeral. I'll post details of the funeral as soon as I have them.

La Muela - F3F day 1

Day one was sunny and started with very light SW winds that took a while to creep above the minimum. When the wind did pick up the slope lift was not so good and the thermal influence was pretty severe.

The leader board is a mixed bag. Pierre Rondel escaped the worst of it, as did Mike Shellim and Inaki Elizondo. The forecast today is for more wind and less sun, which should flatten things out a bit but for some of us the damage is already done!

La Muela - Day 2

Another fun day before the Eurotour event starts tomorrow. Just about everyone turned up today, along with the usual bunch of parapentes. Largely thermic conditions were fun but not great for practice.

Depending on which local you talk to you can pick the forecast of your choice. We will see; all I know is I have to get up at a time that should be reserved for working or going to airports...

Some more photos...

La Muela - Day 1

Arrived at La Muela... a few quick photos.

Fantastic to have some sun and bags of wind.
